China – Cook Group…

We are split into teams of 4 to cook for the whole group (40 souls) on bush camps.

The now famous cook group 6 (me, Cat, Claire and Fran) were the first to cook in China, at altitude and in sight of the mountains we came to Tibet to see.

Why are we famous? For making the 2nd or 3rd (out of 10) best food but having the most fun doing it! I could have a proper rant about the 10th best groups offerings. “Is this a joke?, no seriously – you’re kidding right?”.

Anyway – Everything takes longer at altitude, setting the gear up was tiring and this was only 4000m or so. It took ages to make tea (dinner for Southerners….)

You also have to do breakfast. I was up at 05:30 for a 08:00 departure. It took 45 mins to boil a kettle…

A big breakfast was essential as we set off for the drive to Everest base camp…
